                                                                 Introduction

First and foremost, we would like to welcome you to our site and would like to thank you for your interest in our guild. A guild is only as good as it’s members and without them we would not accomplish anything. Secondly, we would encourage you to enjoy our forums and get to know the people you will be grouping, raiding, and just generally hanging out with in the years to come. Lastly, we would also like you to know that we are here to answer any questions you might have that aren’t answered in this charter. We will be updating this charter and its content as we get closer to release.

Current Guild Goals

  • Right now, our goals are based towards getting a group of people together for the Alpha/Beta sessions that are upcoming, but we would also like to point out that having alpha/beta access is not a requirement.

  • We are also building towards launch because the goal is having a solid foundation when the game launches. We want to take the alpha/beta sessions seriously and get involved in helping them make this a better game

  • These testing sessions can be a lot of fun if you have a good group of people to run it with and we’ll get a good snapshot of what to expect at release and have a good base of understanding about the game . This will be helpful when we start taking on members that did not go through the testing and we can help them along much easier.

After Release Goals

  • After release, obviously our goals will take on a new direction but it’s hard to predict specific goals when we aren’t sure what to expect just yet and we’ll know a lot more after Alpha has concluded. We’ll go through some of the basic ones we have discussed already though.

  • The first goal will obviously be to build a good base of people during testing and continue with those people when we hit launch. We would like to have solid member base by the time the game launches and move forward with that group in leveling and progression.

  • The next goal will be to progress through the content that is provided and level as efficiently as possible while still getting enjoyment out of the game. We won’t be putting unrealistic expectations on people to hit max level. We want everyone to enjoy the game at a reasonable pace. With that said, we do expect you to level at a somewhat good pace to keep up with everyone else in the guild. We don’t really want to have to catch people up constantly because that prevents us from progressing in a linear fashion through the game.

  • We will be hitting raid content when we get to that point. After the initial leveling process, we do plan to become a raiding guild. Let us be clear, this will not be a casual guild. There will be a raid schedule when we get to that point and attendance to those raids will be mandatory if you want gear and to continue to progress with the guild.

Expectations for Members

We want you take the goals and expectations of this guild seriously and when we say guild, we do mean the guild as a whole. We are not here to cater to one or two people. We will be doing things for the betterment of the group and that means working together to achieve a common goal. We do not condone selfishness in this guild. When you are a member of our guild, we expect you to understand that everything we do will be done with the guild in mind. If this makes you uncomfortable or if you are just concerned about what the guild can get you, then this may not be the place for you. We want to build friendships and lasting relationships with our members, and that can’t be accomplished if people are only concerned about what they can get for themselves. We want people who understand that by helping the guild improve, you will be rewarded for those efforts. Without strengthening the guild first, no one will be rewarded because our goals will not be achieved.

Conduct

  • When there is a code of conduct and rules released by Pantheon, you will follow what it says. There won’t be any cheating, mods, exploits, or any other bullshit conducted by our guild members. If we catch you cheating or doing anything to directly violate the rules of the game, then you will be removed immediately.

  • Harassment will not be tolerated. We won’t get lengthy on this subject because everyone knows what it is. Don’t fucking do it. End of story. If you don’t like someone, that’s perfectly fine, some people just don’t get along, but don’t berate, harass, or any way make fun of that person just because you don’t like them. You will be removed with a swiftness if this is the case. This also applies to players that are outside of our guild. We are only a part of an entire community of gamers that will be playing this game. We will conduct ourselves with respect to Pantheon and will not be known as a guild full of assholes. We want to be able to be proud of our guild and will not tolerate anyone that is a detriment to that goal. You will respect other players within the guild and outside of our guild while you are member of Rising Shadow and will be held accountable for any actions that we deem disrespectful or detrimental to the reputation we want to build.

  • There will not be political or religious topics discussed in any communication avenues available to this guild. You have been warned about this. We don’t give two shits what your political thoughts are, and we request that you keep those to yourself. Political and religious discussions almost always lead to arguments and we don’t want anything breaking apart relationships in this guild. These games are designed to be an escape from the real world and we would like to keep it that way. There is nothing about the political or religious landscape that has anything to do with what we’re trying to accomplish in Pantheon. If you feel the need to talk about these topics with someone then do it in private and outside of the guild chat channels and forums.

  • Don’t be a dick. We’re all here to have fun and enjoy playing a game. There is no reason to be an asshole and it won’t be tolerated. Again, use some common sense here. We aren’t going to boot everyone that says something out of line but if it’s a common occurrence then you may not have a place with us. We want an environment that is filled with friends working to accomplish a common goal and not a bunch of whining and complaining about someone not doing something exactly how you think they should.

  • There will be no specific language restrictions when it comes to the communication channels of the guild. We don’t like placing those restrictions on guild members because we want everyone to feel comfortable and be themselves, but we also expect you to use your better judgement with stuff like this. Don’t fill up guild chat with a bunch of craziness just because there is no restriction. That’s not to say we won’t have chat channels where you can talk about whatever the hell you want. We just want to be clear that there isn’t a rule about cursing in guild chat or anything like that; however, we do expect you to conduct yourself in a somewhat decent manner and not go off on tirades. Most people don’t mind cursing, but they do get annoyed if someone is constantly filling up guild chat with it.

Play Time Expectations

We don’t want to fill our guild up with a bunch of people who never play. We understand completely that real life can be volatile and unpredictable and will never punish a player for things like that. We all have lives outside of this and understand that this is just a game after all. So, don’t be concerned about play time when you have real life things going on. Now that we have that out of the way, here are the actual expectations we have for our members regarding play time.We ask the question about play time in the application for a reason, and we would like you to be completely honest with us on that front. We don’t want an application saying you play 5 days a week and then only see you playing 1-2 days per week. If you only play 2 days per week then tell us that in the application so that we can better evaluate if you can fit in with us.

After membership has been granted and your situation might happen to change, then we would expect you to let us know that your play time will be scaled back for a while. We don’t need details about your real life and would only expect you to let us know you have some things going on right now and will be periodically absent. It’s fine and we understand.  With that said, we do want people that are going to be consistent with their play times and can be relied upon. This goes back to the expectation segment of the charter and the overall improvement of the guild. When the members are never online, then what good is that doing the guild? With all that said, our main expectation when it comes to play time is consistency and interacting with the guild when you are online.

Final Comments

In closing, we want to be a guild that people enjoy being a member of and we also want to be a guild that other people see and look up to. We want to be in the upper echelon of guilds in this game and one that’s looked at as one of the best. This means by both our skill for progressing through Pantheon and being known for doing it in the right way. We see the right way as being a solid group of friends that genuinely enjoy playing together and have a great time progressing through what we hope is going to be the next great MMO.

If you have any questions about this charter or need clarification on any items at all, please feel free to contact us on the forums or through risingshadowguild@gmail.com. Our leadership and officers check both daily and will answer questions you might have.

Regards,
